About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the governance of a board that continues to evolve and grow. As a board member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the ongoing strategic direction and priorities of WHV, and ensuring WHV effectively fulfills its responsibilities. You’ll work closely with the CEO, Chair and other Board members to position WHV for future growth and maximum impact.
In assisting in the governance of the organisation, you’ll bring skills to:
- foster and champion visionary leadership and contribute to strategic planning and direction
- monitor WHV’s performance against its strategies and targets to meet key internal and external stakeholder expectations
- have a keen focus and specific knowledge to suggest best practice initiatives to proactively manage risk and compliance
- portray collaborative leadership to promote a positive culture, uphold high ethical standards and align collective interests
- ensure effective governance and adherence to policies, including activities to oversee board and committee evaluations / succession planning.
The successful applicant will be expected to commence in this position from July 2025 and will be able to serve for a period of up to 3 years.
Amongst other selection criteria, as an ideal candidate, you’ll have:
- Board experience or in an executive Governance role reporting to a Board an advantage
- knowledge of, and commitment to, strong and effective corporate governance experience in setting strategic direction and fostering innovation
- a strong commitment to women’s health and feminist framework
- adaptability in navigating complexities within the non-profit and healthcare sectors.
