Victorian Gendered Data Directory
Directory of Women's Health and Well-being Data Sources for Victorian Policy and Planning
About the directory
The Victorian Gendered Data Directory is a collated list of sources that provide data on women in Victoria against an agreed set of indicators. It is designed to assist health planners and administrators, community practitioners, and academic researchers in Victoria to adopt a gendered approach in their work.
The directory can be used to locate a source of data that provides specific gendered information within a Victorian context on a given topic. For example when developing a policy program related to the health consequences of unhealthy weight, the directory can be used to locate a number of sources of gendered data on physical activity and inactivity, body mass index, and body image and eating disorders. The directory does not list the actual data but rather acts as a gateway to locating data.
Although the directory has an emphasis on women's experience, the majority of sources that provide sex-disaggregated data list statistics on men. Therefore, the data sources in the directory can also be used to compare the experience of men and women.
The development of this directory was funded through the Victorian Women's Health and Well-being Strategy, Department of Human Services with the directory's implementation overseen by a joint Women's Health Victoria / Department of Human Services Advisory Committee.
The Victorian Gendered Data Directory is available as one

directory is also available divided into sections below.
