The health issues that women experience are many and varied. They are not just about the reproductive 'bits' of our bodies but also about the various aspects that affect our health through our relationships, work, culture and the society within which we live.

The information you will find here is a combination of:

  • articles that we have written (any information which includes details about medical conditions, illness or treatments has been written by a staff member with a recognised health qualification),
  • annotated lists of books, articles, pamphlets and videos (known as Women's Health Information packages) on a small number of topics which identify resources that are responsive to women's health information requests and/or identify current research and policy information
  • links to other web sites which provide information that you may find of interest or are able to use.

The topics and resources are not complete or exhaustive and from time to time further topics will be added.

As an internet user seeking health information on the web it is important to know how to recognise a trustworthy site as well as how to recognise misleading information. The following articles by the Victorian Government Better Health Channel and the Australian Government HealthInsite provide an introduction to health information on the Internet.
