Hysterectomy

Hysterectomy is the removal of the uterus (womb), and sometimes the removal of the Fallopian tubes and ovaries (radical hysterectomy) at the same time. It is one of the most common surgical procedures performed on women.

There are many conditions and reasons for which a hysterectomy is performed and different types of surgery. There are also alternative treatments to surgery in many circumstances.
