Scope of health issuesWomen's health is about all health issues that affect women. It is about recognising the diversity of women's lives and the diversity that exists among women. Women's health is based on a broad view of health which considers the influence of social, economic and environmental factors in the analysis of health and in health promotion activities. It is not just about medical conditions, illness and treatments. The information you will find in this section of the web site looks at women's health from this broad aspect. Women share common experiences yet we are also a diverse group. The information on this site is for all women. However, some women might identify within a specific group (e.g. lesbians, women with disabilities, indigenous women, young women, women in and post prison). You will also find information relevant to different groups on this web site or within the Clearinghouse resource collection database. The information on the web site has mostly been written by the staff of WHV and in any instance where this is not the case the details of authorship are stated clearly. Any information which includes details about medical conditions, illness or treatments has been written by a staff member with a recognised health qualification.
