Contraception
Contraception can be a medication, device or technique used to prevent pregnancy. There are numerous contraceptive options available in

- hormonal drugs, e.g. the pill, the mini pill,
injections (depo provera), implants (implanon), emergency contraception
(morning after pill), IUD (intrauterine device releasing progesterone)
- a physical barrier or device, e.g. male and

ovulation method, calendar/rhythm method, mucus/ temperature method,
withdrawal, and breastfeeding
- sterilisation, e.g. tubal ligation (tubes
tied) or essure (micro inserts) for women, vasectomy (the snip) for
men
